Calan
Calan (Verapamil Tablets USP) is a channel blocker that blocks calcium in order to treat cardiovascular disorders.
Composition:
This medicine is available in film coated tablets.
In 80mg dose, each film coated tablet is composed of 80mg Verapamil hydrochloride.
It is also available in 40mg and 240mg film coated tablets.
Dosage:
In usual case, the dose is divided into three to four doses which range from 240mg to 360mg or as prescribed by the doctor or physician.
Follow the directions given by the doctor.
Uses:
Verapamil is helpful in curing heart diseases and prevent serious heart disorders.
It aids in controlling high blood pressure, angina, blood clotting, and heart stroke.
It also relaxes the heart muscles and blood vessels for smooth blood flow to the heart and body.
Adverse effects:
Calan may cause an intense decrease in blood pressure, instant pain in the left arm or heart, and dizziness.
In severe cases, it can damage the liver, kidney, and heart failure.
Consult the doctor in case the patient has hypersensitivity to verapamil or history with liver or kidney operation and disorder.
Storage:
Store the medicine at a dry place with no direct contact with heat and sunlight.
Avoid freezing the medicine.
