    QUARANTINE BIRTHDAY REFLECTIONS

Another year goes, with me being older and wiser.

This year I celebrated a different kind of birthday, a birthday where I was isolated at home, distant from friends, and practicing social distancing.

With each passing day, I have found the value of self-reflection, and the birthday is a perfect time for this. Your experience can offer you a lot to learn and that has nothing to do with how old you are.

Therefore, I thought to share my five essential life lessons.

    • Live the Present Moment: Always cherish the little moments in your life. As we grow older, we lose appreciation for the little things. Whether you are celebrating a birthday at a restaurant or your home, try to enjoy it as these small moments create big memories.

    • Create a Memory for the Future: Instead of looking back and wishing to relive the past, try to live in present to create a memory for your future. So, if you are thinking about previous birthdays, you will end up wasting this day. Make the most of this situation as you probably might not be able to celebrate this later.

    • Celebrate Personal Development: Make sure to list down what you have achieved and learned this year. Whether it was just a small habit or a bigger achievement, try to pen it down. Compare yourself to who you were and celebrate personal development.

    • Give Yourself A Present: Lastly, one of the most important presents which you can give yourself is a book. If you are not an avid reader, you can start with one book a year. This would eventually be life-changing for you.

Therefore, keep celebrating your life as it is rightly said that “the more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.”
